Title: Proposal Writer
Duration: Full Time Permanent
Location: Chantilly, VA (On-site), Remote for Other Locations
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Proposal Writer to join our Federal Proposal Team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation to support proposal efforts for federal contracts. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), proposal managers, and other team members to produce high-quality, accurate, and compliant proposals that meet the specific requirements of federal clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and write clear, concise, and persuasive proposal content for federal proposals, including technical approaches, project management plans, staffing plans, and other related documents.
- Collaborate with proposal managers, subject matter experts, and other team members to understand the technical aspects of the proposed solution.
- Ensure that all technical content aligns with the client's requirements, proposal format, and compliance standards.
- Edit and revise content to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and alignment with federal regulations and proposal guidelines.
- Organize and manage technical information to ensure documentation is easy to navigate and consistent with proposal requirements.
- Assist in the development of proposal templates and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for proposal writing and documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of technical documents and proposals, ensuring all necessary details are included and that the final submission meets federal standards and deadlines.
- Contribute to the final proposal package by performing formatting, version control, and proofreading tasks as needed.
- Stay current with federal procurement processes and regulations, incorporating best practices into proposal documentation.
- Support post-submission activities such as clarifications, debriefs, and proposal revisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, proposal writing preferably in support of federal proposals.
- Strong knowledge of federal proposal processes, including compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other federal contracting guidelines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and proposal management software (e.g., Proposal Software Tools).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
