Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cognos Lead with very good hands-on experience in Cognos BI to design, develop, and optimize business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server, stored procedure-based reports, and debugging issues between source and report. Additionally, experience in Power BI and working with cloud data sources like Azure is a plus. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Cognos BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Develop and optimize Cognos reports with a strong focus on performance efficiency.
• Work extensively with SQL Server and stored procedure-based reports.
• Debug and collaborate with the ETL team to resolve issues between the data source and reports.
• Work with Power BI for data visualization and reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain Framework Manager models, Transformer cubes, and metadata layers.
• Implement security and data governance best practices within Cognos.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Cognos-related technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Stay updated with the latest Cognos features and best practices to enhance system capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• [X+] years of experience with IBM Cognos BI Suite, including Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Transformer.
• Very good hands-on experience with Cognos BI.
• Strong experience working with SQL Server and stored procedure-based reports.
• Good experience in debugging and working with the ETL team to identify and resolve issues between the source and reports.
• Hands-on experience in data modeling and ETL development.
• Proven ability to optimize complex reports and queries for high performance.
• Knowledge of Cognos administration, security, and deployment best practices.
• Good experience in working with Power BI.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nice to have knowledge of cloud data sources like Azure.
• Experience integrating Cognos with other BI tools and data visualization platforms.
• IBM Cognos certification is a plus.
