Title: SAP Enterprise Architect
Location: Newark, NJ
Work Category: Hybrid (3 days a week on every alternative week)
Job Summary:
The SAP Enterprise Architect leads the design, development, and deployment of technology solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. This role collaborates with stakeholders to define architecture, roadmaps, and capability models, while driving consensus and managing integration across applications, infrastructure, and data. The architect will also develop reusable artifacts, establish policies and standards, and lead the adoption of best practices to accelerate solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into architecture, roadmaps, and capability models.
- Design solutions across applications, infrastructure, and data, ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Create and maintain reusable architecture artifacts and patterns to drive consistency and efficiency.
- Promote the use of existing models, services, and capabilities to accelerate solution delivery and increase reusability.
- Research modern architecture trends (e.g., microservices, continuous delivery) and integrate them into solution design.
- Develop policies, standards, and best practices that align with utility-specific regulatory requirements and measure architectural quality and business outcomes (e.g., system reliability, regulatory adherence).
- Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and strategic requirements.
- Act as a liaison between various teams during architecture implementation and integration.
- Communicate architecture goals and business outcomes to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational value.
- Support technology evaluation and decision-making to optimize spending and resource allocation.
- Contribute to ecosystem strategy, including analysis, opportunity identification, and innovation portfolio development.
Required Qualifications and Key Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 8-15 years of experience in solution engineering, with expertise in business, technical, or solution architecture, application development, database management, and multi-tier environments.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in architecture, with a focus on SAP solutions and technology integration.
- Experience with utility-specific systems and technologies, such as SCADA, grid management, energy management systems (EMS), smart meters, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., NERC CIP regulations).
- Ability to estimate the financial impact of various solution architecture alternatives.
- Strong knowledge of SAP data modeling, metadata systems, BI/reporting tools, and database technologies.
- Experience in backend development on SAP BW platforms (Datasphere, BW on HANA, BW/4HANA) and data extraction from systems like S/4, SQL, Excel.
- Proficiency in frontend development with SAP tools (SAP Analytics Cloud, Embedded SAC, Analysis for Office).
- Strong data management, integration, and database development skills.
- Proven leadership in SAP data & analytics architecture, driving adoption and aligning solutions with business outcomes.
- Track record in developing SAP data & analytics architectures, frameworks, standards, and roadmaps.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with experience in planning, organizing, and driving strategic initiatives.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to business users and promote adoption of architecture standards.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive strategic decisions.
