Akima is searching for eager STEM Interns to join our team for the Summer! The Akima Technology Solutions and Products Group (TSPG) STEM Intern will be responsible for completing IT related projects supporting the functional areas of operations, finance, and business development. In addition, the intern will be assigned a project team role on an active TSPG contract providing the project manager and technical staff with expertise in a variety of IT roles. This position will contribute to the successful implementation of multiple IT projects while obtaining valuable corporate and contract-level experience supporting a diverse portfolio of IT project

We are looking for students who are willing to learn new technologies and contribute to our team. Interns will be expected to contribute to projects alongside our IT professionals, as well contribute to our STEM Capstone project during their internship.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.
  • Must be a student who is enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Must be majoring in a computer science-related field.
  • Strong technical aptitude with a passion for technology and problem-solving.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts, including hardware, software, networks, and security.
  • Familiarity with Window operating systems and common software applications.
  • Upcoming Junior or Senior
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
  • Must be within commuting distance to Herndon, Virginia. Housing will not be provided.
