Position Description:
Sr. Reliability Engineer for Covidien, LP (a Medtronic company) located in North Haven, CT. Responsible for development of reliability testing methodologies for electrical and mechanical components and subsystems, test methods, and validation activities to meet requirements. Interface with cross-functional group members, various suppliers, and test laboratories. Perform data analysis using statistical analysis including MS Excel, Minitab, and ReliaSoft. Conduct reliability testing of assigned system/subsystem/component. Perform root cause analysis for electrical and mechanical components. Maintain and execute the activities including test capability development, protocol development, test method development. Conduct preliminary failure analysis, test execution, data recording/reporting, data analysis/management, test status reporting/presentation. Support CAPA testing, design verification testing, characterization testing, highly accelerated life testing HALT, accelerated life testing (ALT) and demonstration testing as required. Navigate FDA 21 CFR part 11, 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, and IEC 62304. Author and execute Test method validation, Test Fixture Qualification, Excel Spreadsheet Validation, software validation documentation. Relocation assistance not provided. #LI-DNI
Basic Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Management, or related Engineering field and two (2) years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or related occupation in reliability engineering OR Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering, Engineering Management, or related Engineering field and five (5) years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or related occupation in reliability engineering.
Must possess at least two (2) years' experience with each of the following: Performing data analysis using statistical analysis including MS Excel, Minitab, and ReliaSoft; Conducting reliability testing of assigned system/subsystem/component; Performing root cause analysis for electrical and mechanical components; Maintaining and executing the activities including test capability development, protocol development, and test method development; Conducting preliminary failure analysis, test execution, data recording/reporting, data analysis/management, and test status reporting/presentation; Supporting CAPA testing, design verification testing, characterization testing, HALT, ALT and demonstration testing; FDA 21 CFR part 11, 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, and IEC 62304; and Authoring and executing Test method validation, Test Fixture Qualification, Excel Spreadsheet Validation, and software validation documentation.
