Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Acquisition Strategy and Documentation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Base Information Transport Infrastructure (BITI) program, which is within the the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Research the various cyber defense products that are in use by DoD and other Government entities, by commercial organizations, or are in development.
- Work with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) to ensure all significant issues are thoroughly examined and evaluated. Help develop corrective actions to address any problem areas.
- Assist the Program Manager (PM) by developing plans and recommending acquisition strategies that will allow the PMO to meet technical requirements while staying within the cost and schedule constraints.
- Assist with mission execution to include but not limited to operational planning, operational analysis, capability development, event integration, event execution, analysis and reporting.
- Participate in technical evaluations of proposals.
- Review and track prime contractor deliverables status and schedules.
- Remain current on future capabilities either in development or being considered by DoD, AF, and/or Air Combat Command decision makers (Zero trust for example)
- Assist with strategic level issues and ability to work independently as well as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
- Oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.
- Support Source Selections
PROGRAM SPECIFIC SKILL SET:
- Knowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what is within schedule and cost baselines, be able to recommend viable solutions to problems, and pursue alternative courses of action.
- Ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision, and effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.).
- Collaborate with a diverse group of multi-MAJCOM stakeholders to determine specific needs and requirements and to counsel within the expertise area, to include oversight and task execution utilizing leadership, teamwork, and diplomacy.
- Generate plans, schedules, and facilitates a variety of exchanges and meetings with the program office team, stakeholders, and industry to understand program requirements and emerging commercial technologies which may address warfighter capability gaps.
- Possesses pertinent experience with an ACAT I level program, including formulating, recommending, and drafting the proper acquisition strategy and associated statutory and regulatory ACAT I documentations in a timely and effective manner.
- Support all Acquisition Strategy reviews, develop supporting documentation, and support the Government in development and review of draft Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and RFP documents.
- Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews and IMP/IMS reviews.
- Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
- Ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel
- Advanced AF program management acquisition knowledge as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise.
- Experience in assisting with strategic level issues and ability to work independently as well as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
- Possesses pertinent experience in the development of RFP documentation and support of Acquisition Strategy reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience initiating and managing high visibility programs.
- Bachelors degree and 20 years of program management experience, 10 of which must be in AF acquisition
- MUST have an active US security clearance
