Job Description

Your Mission:
This Lockheed Martin Enterprise IT position is for a highly skilled Data Solution Platform Engineer to design, develop, and optimize extendable data solutions, as a member of the EBDT Innovation and Technology Solutions (ITS) 1LMX Business Resiliency directorate. This role will be responsible for implementing scalable, secure, reliable solutions to support analytics, machine learning, and visualization. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern data architectures, cloud-based technologies, and automation tools to help drive security, efficiency, and innovation.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines and data warehouses to support business intelligence and data analytics
Architect and optimize data solutions using cloud-based technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data requirements and develop solutions to meet business needs
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain technical documentation of data systems and platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and optimize system performance
Develop and implement automated testing and deployment scripts to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of data solutions
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy machine learning models and data products

Basic Qualifications

12+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and Terraform
Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS and Azure
Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
Experience with data pipeline tools such as Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or Apache Kafka
Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles and practices
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data systems and identify areas for improvement
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Desired skills

Experience with agile and DevOps development methodologies
Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
Experience with data governance and data quality tools
Experience with machine learning and data science technologies such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry standards
Familiarity with complex data regulatory requirements such as NIST 800-171 and SOX

Ability to work remotely

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $147,700 - $255,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
