Device Connectivity Lead Engineer
Device Connectivity Lead Engineer (GNSS/GPS) for Global Device company in Austin, TX.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of 2-5 engineers. You will conduct field tests, set up devices, configure iOS, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for the engineers on the team, responsible for assigning tasks and communicating project requirements and expectations. You will ensure the team stays on track with daily assignments and gather necessary information from the engineers as needed.
In addition to team management, you will conduct GNSS/GPS field tests. After completing the tests, you will return to the office to analyze the results, process logs, and perform post-processing to address any issues identified. You will spend 2-3 days in the field and 2-3 days performing post-analysis in the office each week. Field tests may take up the entire day for non-local trips, with security and transportation to testing sites provided.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience working close with a team of engineers
- 1+ years of experience in product field testing with GNSS/GPS technologies preferred.
- Experience in device configuration, log collection, first-level analysis, and report generation.
- Ability to follow test plans, test multiple devices in the field, and gather necessary logs.
- Proficiency in setting up multiple devices and loading firmware.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel locally and non-locally on short notice.
- Experience with the Mac ecosystem and Mac office tools.
Nice to have:
- Basic scripting experience (MATLAB/Python/Shell)
