Automation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Jose, CA that is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their Security team.The Automation Engineer will be responsible for automating the process of extracting log data from scanning tools like Qualys, performing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and loading the data into Splunk for visualization. This role is crucial in processing and managing vulnerabilities detected by our scanning tools, ensuring they are transformed and visualized effectively.

Responsibilities:
* Automate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of log data from vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Qualys) into Splunk
* Develop and maintain scripts and programs using Python, Java, and GO
* Ensure the integrity and security of data during the ETL process
* Collaborate with security teams to identify and address vulnerabilities
* Utilize AWS Security and AWS Data Center Architecture knowledge to enhance automation processes
* Manage and optimize databases (Postgres, MySQL) and web services
* Develop and maintain web applications related to security data visualization
* Implement and manage vulnerability automation scanning and patching processes
* Troubleshoot and resolve security incidents and project roadblocks

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proficiency in programming and scripting languages: Python, Java, GO
* Strong knowledge of Linux, networking concepts, OS fundamentals, and/or machine learning
* Experience with AWS Security and AWS Data Center Architecture
* Hands-on experience with databases (Postgres, MySQL), web application development, and web services
* Expertise in ETL processes and tools
* Familiarity with vulnerability automation scanning and patching, and Splunk
* Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to manage security incidents and project roadblocks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
