IT Projects Financial Analyst Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid Remote of 60% or more. May be requested to be onsite on an as-needed basis for in person meetings / working sessions.)
Contract Duration: November 25, 2024 November 25, 2025
This individual will be providing IT Project Financials Management Support for our client's Large Project Leads (LPLs) and Project Leads. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Define project cost plans and budget plans
- Manage process of getting project cost plans approved as budget plans
- Support LPLs and Project Leads in reviewing project actual costs
- Coordinate with Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and IT Budget Controller to address issues related to cost plans / budget plans and actual costs
- Support in the tracking of project funding requests (DSRR's and AR's) Tracking and reporting monthly Project Accrual and Re-class of non-labor transactions
- Escalate when there are cost under-run or over-runs on projects that are above the variance threshold
- Generate weekly / monthly reports to track portfolio costs (forecast and actuals)
- Support/Enhancement Financials Management
- Support Unit leads in defining support/enhancement cost plans and budget plans
- Support Unit Leads in reviewing support/enhancement PR actual costs
- Coordinate with EPMO and IT Budget Controller to address issues related to cost plans budget plans and actual costs
- Support in tracking of support/enhancement funding requests and approvals
- Track and report monthly support/enhancement Accrual and Re-class of non-labor transactions
- Escalate when there are cost under-run or over-runs on support/enhancement PR's that are above the variance threshold Generate weekly/monthly reports to track portfolio costs (forecast and actuals)
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications.
- Must have experience working with SAP (financials)
- Should understand the financial approval process and budget release process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with IT Budgets and Financials.
- Mid-level IT Finance/Accounting experience with project management methodologies and deliverables.
- Needs to have a strong working knowledge of Finances and Projects.
- Ability to track project deliverables and the finances affiliated.
- Experience tracking project budgets.
- Solid understanding of Purchase Orders and Statements of Work.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including MS Project/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Experience using Clarity tool.
- Experience working with Jira to track and manage requests.
- Experience with SharePoint.
- Excellent internal and client-facing communication skills.
- Good synthesis, analysis and writing skills.
- Experience conducting C-level presentations, Excel reporting, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Self-starter and can understand the financials as they sit today and be able to identify ways to centralize processes and suggest ways to gain efficiency with processes
- Proven ability to multitask and track multiple work threads as they will be looking at multiple balance sheets
- Skilled in working with cross functional teams
- Needs to have good communication skills and the ability to work with different levels of leadership
- Must be comfortable asking questions, challenging things at times and making recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Automotive Finance experience is a plus.
