Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of an IT Project Manager. This is a senior level position and the selected individual will join a collaborative team environment where they will provide expertise and guidance for project leadership, including defining the projects objectives, monitoring contract spending, monitoring project deliverables for multiple projects and creating executive summaries & presentations.

The IT Project Manager plays a key role in client relations, working as the primary point of contact. Key to the success of this position is the successful delivery of projects and effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting project status.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The main tasks is to do the coordination of various groups that participate in the cloud migration project
  • Need to be able to attend meetings and provide meeting minutes of the meetings
  • Need to be proactive and anticipate issues before they arise
  • Coordinate budgetary items including updating internal spend plans and monitoring contract spending.
  • Monitor project deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Create executive summaries, project plans, & executive level presentations.
  • Manage contract Periods of Performance (PoPs).
  • Understand infrastructure activities to include network, server, performance, applications, and capacity.
  • Must be familiar with security technology, and products.
  • Strong understanding of network, system, print services, storage, etc. technologies and have managed projects addressing these infrastructure areas. Knowledge of system applications and tools.
  • Consult with client and assist in development of strategy, plans, and solutions for projects. Work with client helping them to define their needs and address issues they are facing.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and infrastructure team to distinguish requests (nice to haves) from true needs (requirements).
  • Update the project plan, including deliverables, dependencies, assignments, and outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and status on an ongoing basis to team members and stakeholders.
  • Follow process and project management best practices and drive their continuous improvement.
  • Proactively understand the division's IT strategy direction, organizational structure, and services.
  • Assist the Service Area Director in analyzing the organization s competitive position within the government and IT industry, when requested.
  • Conduct IT industry research through sources such as Gartner or the Internet and develops a presentation that clearly supports and answers the Service Area Directors requirements.
  • Familiar with the organization to accurately prepare and update written business correspondence and organizational documents (presentations, spreadsheets, memos, organizational charts) that is coherent, accurate, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging to the Service Area Directors.
  • Provide the Service Area Directors with budgeting information when requested. For example, access financial systems to run reports (e.g. how much money was spent on procuring supplies for a month or date range?).
  • Schedule executive and other meetings, organize agendas, take and distribute minutes, conference room bookings for the Service Area Directors and Deputy Directors.
  • Ensure all meetings are ready prior to start (e.g. projector ready for use, meeting materials are printed).
  • Establish the overall Project Plan that incorporates the project, schedule, as well as the schedule and resource assignments for each deliverable.
  • Identify and incorporate into the plan all tangible outputs, or project deliverables, and the tasks necessary for each project.
  • Identify and include in the Project Plan dependencies among tasks and deliverables.
  • Track, monitor, refine and report the progress of project tasks and deliverable completion against the plan.
  • Coordinate all the above activities with multiple vendors and government personnel.
  • Effective oral communication skills, effective presentation skills, effective listening skills, ability to resolve issues, effective written material, logical organization, readability and conciseness.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nine (9) years of project management experience in large scale IT hosted environments.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Sciences.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.
  • Knowledge of cloud at a high level (PM Level)
  • Experience in cloud migration is a plus
  • Experience with contract pending & tracking project deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Ability to perform independently and under pressure of time constraints with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand technical vision and communicate it to both technical and non-technical parties.
  • Self-motivated leader, enthusiastic, creative, analytical problem-solving leader who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of and background in the Information Technology industry.
  • High level of writing skill including the ability to produce high quality executive-level memos, presentations, minutes, and other documents.
  • High level of computer literacy, including the ability to technically generate high quality documents and proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and SharePoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and deliver quality products.
  • Ability to handle high-paced office and be proactive.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrative ability to work with all levels within the organization as well as superior time management abilities.
  • Must have strong customer-facing skills.
