Summary:
Sr. Director of Data & Integration will be responsible for leading and overseeing the driving and owning the seamless integration of data, systems, platforms, and technologies across the organization and between third-party vendors and internal systems and data warehouse. This role will be overseeing end-to-end data lifecycle, from engineering and architecture to developing and testing the implementation of systems, governance and processes of internally used data. Reporting to the SVP, Applications Enablement, this strategic leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a strong technical background matched with a strong business background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and data-driven decision making across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Strategize and develop detailed integration plans that align with the company s overall business objectives and technology roadmap to ensure successful integration
- Own the end-to-end integration platform by managing all aspects of data and system integration across the organization, such as enterprise system, software and internal application, ensuring all aspects are managed efficiently
- Strategize on potential risks and challenges, developing mitigation plans to address any obstacles that may arise during the integration process ensuring minimal disruption to the day-to-day business operations.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive integration strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's broader vision without disrupting daily operations.
- Partner with key stakeholders, department heads to address their integration needs and projects that align with key performance indicators (KPIs). Responsible for implementation of Incident Management process and works in conjunction with IT Operations and Engineering and associated Problem Management functions. Incident management process will include first level triage and direction to appropriate service lines. Serve as the escalation point to end-users for desktop support related incidents and requests.
- Set the long-term technical direction for Data Platform & Analytics, such as establishing standards for transforming and curating data via dbt, and ensuring that our self-serve BI & data visualization tooling strategy enables business users to gain insights and understand the health of the business.
- Lead strategy of data analytics, data engineering, data governance and data warehousing in developing roadmap of collection, manipulation, and analysis of data for various business functions/departments such as marketing, sales, operations, among others.
- Create new data-driven approaches for the purpose of generating business insights through data analytics, information visualization, and addressing unanswered business issues in a proactive manner.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand each team s data needs, prioritize them for impact, and coordinate the development of infrastructure or execution on deep-dive ad-hoc analyses that enable a data-driven culture.
- Build and lead a team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Integration developers, including offshore team members, ensuring 24/7, follow the sun support model to address integration emergencies while providing guidance, mentorship, and career development to maintain a high level of service and reliability.
- Lead multiple teams, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure team members meet and exceed individual and collective goals.
- Oversee the design and implementation of data models that ingest and store raw data, transform into relevant information that can be used by different users via SQL or self-service no-code tools.
- Manage the Software Development Life Cycle to Ensure that all delivery activities are performed in an efficient, quality, and compliant manner
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
- 15+ years of experience in technology integration roles, with at least 7+ years in a leadership role
- Experience and expertise in advanced programming and solutioning with 8+ years experience in a related field (business intelligence, analytics, data warehousing, platform engineering), with 3+ years experience in cross-functional data management roles
- 5+ years of overall technical exposure on SOA, Middleware, Messaging, API, and REST Based services
- 5+ years of experience in Data Acquisition, Data Integration, Data Observability, Data Governance Tooling, Data Standardization, Data Modeling, and Data Architecture
- 5+ years of experience with Data Lake or Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Data Warehousing, and Data Products such as AWS Data Lake/ Sagemaker, Snowflake, and Databricks
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in managing onshore and offshore teams
- Requires strong understanding of Agile methodologies, data design/architecture/modelling concepts/data sharing/ELT/Data quality and business intelligence tools
- Experience working in agile team, leveraging DevOps concepts and agile-enablement tools including Jira, Confluence, and GitHub
- Familiarity with data cataloging, privacy compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and governance technologies is highly desirable
- Advanced certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS/Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Architect) is very helpful
Knowledge & Skill Level
- Deep knowledge of industry best practices in self-serve analytics, analytics engineering, platform engineering and data governance.
- Expert level knowledge and experience with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure) & high-level understanding of typical data architecture, data warehousing, and data integration techniques.
- Good understanding of API development in SOAP and REST based service interfaces using MuleSoft s Mule Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platform.
- Good understanding of API development with SOA, RESTful APIs, or microservices architecture.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of SDLC and agile best practices and techniques.
- Interface and partner with C-level Executives and Senior Management
- Ability to understand the business, business needs and identify areas that can be optimized.
- Demonstrated ability working on complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
- Previous experience of having overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending, and implementing change.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Translating requirements into technical solutions
- Experience in change management and governance
- Using analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and showing attention to detail
