AWS Cloud Architect

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled AWS Cloud Architect/Developer to provide key support to the Senior Director of Cloud Services. This remote role will involve leading the cloud architecture and development efforts with a strong focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes, specifically Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). The ideal candidate will be a proactive and solution-oriented individual with hands-on expertise in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and AWS services.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture and Development: Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS to meet client requirements and ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
• Kubernetes Expertise: Provide leadership and hands-on development using Kubernetes (EKS) to orchestrate containerized applications, improve deployment processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborative Support: Act as a key point of contact for cloud-related tasks and decisions, working closely with the Senior Director of Cloud Services and other teams.
• Cloud Infrastructure Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize the cloud infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with business needs while managing costs and improving performance.
• Automation & CI/CD: Develop automation pipelines and CI/CD processes for deploying applications and services to the cloud with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that cloud architecture follows security best practices, meets compliance requirements, and implements proper access controls and governance.
• Documentation & Reporting: Provide clear and concise documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and processes. Generate reports for management and stakeholders.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, particularly EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, and EKS.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, and microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, etc.) and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security practices, access management, and compliance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
• Familiarity with other containerization technologies (Docker).
