Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage and fiber optic cables.
  • Route cables through conduits, above ceilings, and between floors as per job specifications.
  • Read and comprehend technical schematics, operation manuals, and maintenance instructions.
  • Identify color codes for various cable types (568A, 568B, 6 strand fiber, 12 strand fiber, 25 pair, and 50 pair).
  • Provide or relocate cable and modular connections.
  • Assist in the installation of communications hardware.
  • Complete projects within budget, on time, and safely.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in workmanship, customer relations, and teamwork.
  • Submit all paperwork on time.
  • Adhere to all project-specific and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct field training and second-level problem evaluation using documented procedures and available tools.

Top Skills Required:

  1. Experience as a Low Voltage/Cable Technician (Voice, Data, and Cable).
  2. Proficiency in running and terminating Cat5 and Cat6 cables.
  3. Ability to read blueprints and use a multimeter.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technicians must supply their own hand tools.
  • Steel toe boots, hard hat, and vest are required.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
