Job Summary
The Information Services (IS) department within University Advancement at the University of Utah is excited to bring on a Salesforce Administrator to our strong and capable team. The IS department is comprised of data and systems professionals and provides direct support to all departments within the University Advancement division. With significant growth in the broader University Advancement organization, the IS department is growing its team to provide continued reliable and high-quality service to University Advancement end-users.
The Salesforce Administrator supports the management of Salesforce for the University of Utah Advancement Office Salesforce Org. This position is responsible for the secure and efficient management of data within the system, troubleshooting issues, developing declarative and as feasible non-declarative enhancements, reviewing and collaborating with other team members on enhancements including Business Analysts, Data Analysts, developers, and other administrators, maintaining and analyzing backups, supporting end users and documenting technical processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Salesforce administration, be a self-starter, and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This position will report to the Associate Director of IT within the Information Services team and will collaborate with various members of the larger Advancement Services team, including System Administrators, Business Systems Analysts, and Trainers.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Director of IT, the duties and responsibilities of the Salesforce Administrator include:

- Conduct basic system administration responsibilities for Salesforce Org functionality

- All aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD , sharing rules

- Implementation of Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports

- Provide support to end-users for escalated issues

- Translate business requirements into creative and effective technical designs

- Participate in the planning and analyzing of business requirements for system changes and enhancements

- Monitor and address user support tickets

- Drive testing and validation of Salesforce configuration and development

- Improve the overall quality and completeness of documentation

- Monitor and analyze salesforce backup jobs

- Possess a basic understanding of order of execution performed by salesforce during record creation/changes

- Sandbox environment management

- DevOps/release management experience (Change sets or app-based such as Copado, Gearset, etc.)

- Help review declarative and code-based changes

- Create meaningful technical documentation

- Implementation and maintenance of integrated applications and third-party suppliers including, (but not limited to): Conga, Form Assembly, Salesforce Maps, Jitterbit, DocuSign as well as some custom Rest API integrations

- Ability to meet deadlines, communicate delays and clarify ambiguous requirements.

- Proactive attitude to platform enhancements

- Excellent relationship-building skills

- Train end users or provide documentation on platform enhancements

- Available and responsive to questions

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Active Salesforce Administrator Certification

- At least 1 year of salesforce experience

- Proficiency with Salesforce configuration tools, including a deep understanding of custom objects, page layouts, workflows, process builder, flow builder, and validation rules

- Deep understanding of the Salesforce security model, including profiles, permissions, record-level access, field-level access, roles, and hierarchies

- Proficiency with Salesforce reports and dashboards

- Familiarity with and a basic understanding of Apex, custom metadata and custom settings.

- Familiarity with and a basic understanding of HTML , JavaScript, and CSS

- Familiarity working with Salesforce integrated marketing solutions, preferably Marketing Cloud

- Familiarity with and a basic understanding of middleware tools such as Jitterbit Harmony

- Familiarity with SQL or SOQL

- Familiarity or experience with Development Fundraising with a non-profit organization
