The UI Architect is involved in many aspects of a customer engagement; from leading and directing team of user experience designers, frontend engineers and graphic designers, collaboration with other team members and customers to determine the best solution for a particular engagement to the design, development and delivery of software products. Architect owns technical aspect of the project(s) and acts as the liaison between the customer and the development team in leading the projects, managing releases, requirements, product backlogs from the technical standpoint and bringing deep core technology expertise and relevant business knowledge to the team. UI Architect plays a critical role in leading the innovation and growth of our front end web and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating frequently with clients to provide UI solutions and assistance; and working with these customers to understand their requirements for UI implementations that add the most value of user experience(UX) to business.
  • UI architect should be responsible to choose right set of client side frameworks, libraries, models of interaction with the servers, layouts, caching, responsive UI that can be easily viewed on a variety of devices and form factors, etc. The primary concern should also be security and to minimize the vulnerabilities to attack.
  • Responsible for creating highly scalable, flexible and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of best practices.
  • Providing technical expertise for every phase of the project lifecycle; from concept development to solution design, implementation, optimization and support.
  • Well versed with JavaScript libraries and have clear point of view and able to recommend the right solutions
  • Responsible to prepare the technical design of the components within the module (one or more of client/web presentation tier, server tier, data access and data model, integration component).
  • Establish the governance, best practices and frameworks for UI related technologies.
  • Ideate and design of innovative solutions using the latest UI design concepts and principles.
  • Proficient in articulating the pros and cons of using a certain technology stack or component or design pattern versus another to the clients and project team and drives selection of technologies, designs to come up with the optimal architecture.
  • Drives the performance tuning, re-design and re-factoring for a module.
  • Contributes to designing and implementing the build, release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the application.
  • Implements (hands-on) the module components based on prevailing Framework and Open-source standards & its best practices.
  • Mentors the team (people working on the module and other project team members) on technology concepts and best practices for design, implementation and other processes.
  • Must have the ability to work within a design team and be open to critique
  • Work with project team and be actively involved in all aspects of the work
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
  • Design a highly flexible and reusable architecture

  • Working closely with team members on quality-related activities.
  • Leading and mentoring junior developers through projects.
  • Reviewing and approving 3rd party and integration solution architecture based on established enterprise application strategy.
  • Communicating implications of architectural decisions, issues and plans to business and IT Leadership.
  • Defining and validating non-functional (technical) requirements, and establishing traceability between requirements and application architecture/design.
  • Providing input to the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, estimates, and deliverables, when needed.
  • Working closely with Performance Engineering and our Web/Infrastructure Technology teams on defining the deployment architecture.
  • Participating, and technically leading when needed, production troubleshooting and 'War Room' Activities.
  • This role is expected to generally work in India business hours with occasional off-hours status meetings with the on-shore team.

Skill sets: (Must have)

  • Education qualification: BE /B Tech / MCA / MSc / M. Tech.
  • 10+ years of IT experience in application development and maintenance activities with Microsoft technology stack
  • Has the ability to connect technology with measurable business values, and also has demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges.
  • Owns the end-to-end technical implementation through different stages of its life cycle.
  • Hands-on experience with designing and implementation of the full web architecture, including layers in React ,HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Angular 8, Bootstrap, Node.js,
  • Expertise in Modern MVC, Micro Front-End Architecture and Microservices based Architecture and Design.
  • Hands on experience on React/Redux is mandatory
  • Expertise in Java Script (ES2015, ESNEXT), Typescript, HTML 5, CSS, OOJS
  • Experience with at least one of the CSS Pre-processors (Sass or Less)
  • Expertise in RESTful services
  • Expertise in RxJS and design patterns
  • Expertise in modern front-end development workflow tools and build tools like Webpack, Gulp etc.,
  • As a trusted customer advocate, should have the ability to help the customers understand and adapt to best practices and demonstrate tangible value additions or improved ROI.
  • Should drive innovation in terms of publishing papers, blogs, creating POCs, propositions etc.
  • Should mentor and guide junior members in the practice and create a conducive environment for others to grow technically.
  • Should ensure quality in hiring external candidates for technical roles.
  • Strong in software development process, test driven development.
  • Strong OO design skills/implementation of design patterns.
  • Strong experience with Build and Release, Systems Integration, Agile, Estimations/Planning.
  • Strong experience in web standards, accessibility.
  • Experience working with distributed Agile teams and Devops Principles of CI, CD
  • Good understanding of front-end component development-based architectures

Skillset (Preferred):

  • Client facing and exposure to onshore offshore delivery model
  • Experience in working in a global environment involving multiple development sites on various time zones.
  • Exposure to Responsive Application Designs using React.js, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, JQuery
  • Agile development environment especially SCRUM.
  • Capable of building sustainable relationships with colleagues and key individuals.
  • Creativity and ability to think outside-the-box while defining sound and practical solutions.
  • Desire to take the initiative, moving projects/ideas forward with clarity.
  • Adept negotiation skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Leadership skills to indirectly lead cross-functional teams towards common solutions.
  • Certifications in Scrum, TOGAF (or any other architecture related)
