C Unix Batch Developer, 8+ years experience

Healthcare experience, ready to move up to the next level, very experience candidates needed

Need someone to take over responsibilities for those employees that are moving on

Need to be able to work independently, room for them to grow into team leads

Not looking for candidates that aren t willing to commit to a long-term commitment

Plan to convert contractor! Want candidates that are willing to commit long term

Must be willing to work the on-call schedule

M-F, 8-5 but can be flexible with hours

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain batch processing programs using C on Unix platforms.

Write shell scripts (e.g., Bash, C-shell) to automate batch jobs and processes.

Work with job scheduling tools like Cron or third-party job schedulers to manage batch jobs.

Develop file-handling routines (e.g., reading, writing, parsing flat files).

Interface with databases using SQL or other database access libraries.

Optimize existing batch processes for performance and reliability.

Handle error logging, debugging, and exception handling for batch programs.

Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth data processing and integration.

Skills:

C Programming: Strong understanding of C for building efficient batch processes.

Unix/Linux: Knowledge of Unix commands, file systems, and process management.

Shell Scripting: Proficiency in scripting to support automation.

SQL/Database Interaction: Experience with database queries and batch data processing.
