Job Description: Conduct IT audit and compliance reviews and assist in designing systems and procedures that meet DHS cybersecurity policy and operational requirements. Evaluate organizational processes, perform audits of IT systems, and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and maintain cybersecurity policy compliance. Includes program analysts and management consultants.
Security Clearance: Secret

Job Overview:
- Analyze and review DHS IT systems and operational procedures to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and audit standards.
- Support the development and implementation of audit procedures that assess the efficiency and effectiveness of IT systems.
- Assist in preparing operational and procedure manuals that align with DHS policies and federal audit requirements.
- Provide recommendations for system and procedural improvements based on audit findings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducted comprehensive audits of DHS IT systems and information security policies, ensuring they met established compliance and efficiency standards.
- Review existing operational procedures, analyze current system workflows, and identify areas for improvement and streamlining to enhance the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures.
- Collect and organize audit data and procedural information, document findings and develop actionable recommendations for implementing new systems, improved procedures, or organizational changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of recommended audit procedures and confirm that newly installed systems and policies function as intended.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and recommend to DHS management to improve operational efficiency, reduce security risks, and enhance compliance with federal IT audit requirements.
- Conduct operational effectiveness reviews and support continuous monitoring to ensure systems and projects meet cybersecurity objectives and compliance benchmarks.
- Assist in developing and regularly updating policy manuals and operational guidelines that outline effective methods for performing IT audits, managing information security risks, and complying with DHS policies.
- Provide training and support to ensure personnel fully understand and adhere to the updated audit procedures and DHS policies.
- Stay informed about emerging audit standards and cybersecurity requirements to ensure that DHS maintains compliance with the latest federal mandates.
