Job Title: Sr Release Train Engineer
Location: Carmel, IN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Oversee and guide the Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure successful software delivery in large environments.
  • Portfolio, Program, and Project Support: Provide support across various projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals.
  • Business Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives at the program level.
  • Release and Deployment: Manage the release and deployment processes, ensuring seamless integration and delivery.
  • Fill Gaps on the RTC and for the Train: Identify and address gaps, ensuring the train's efficiency and effectiveness.

Role Purpose: The Sr Release Train Engineer (RTE) supports an Agile Release Train (ART) by steering it to success, resolving and escalating impediments, managing risks, assuring value delivery, and driving continuous improvement. The RTE coordinates, executes, and delivers value through the program while ensuring alignment with company strategy and goals.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 4 years’ experience OR 8 years relevant experience.
  • 4 years’ experience as Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, or Agile Project/Program Manager.
  • Experience with collaboration and influence with Director level stakeholders.
  • Must understand the difference between being Agile and doing Agile.
  • Understands Lean thinking and implementation.
  • Servant leader and strong communicator with strong interpersonal skills who can:
    • Listen and support teams in problem-identification and decision-making.
    • Encourage an environment that values mutual respect, openness, and courage.
    • Persuade by influence rather than authority.
    • Understand and empathize with others.
    • Think beyond day-to-day activities.
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or other scaling models.

Desirable:

  • Agile Certification (A-CSM, PSM, or PMI-ACP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Advanced degree in industry-related subject.
  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or other SAFe certifications preferred.
