Technical Writer, Information Security

Our client seeks a technical writer to update and revise approximately 25 information security documents, including policies, standards, and procedures. These documents were initially written 2.5 to 3 years ago and require a round of updates.

What you ll do:

  • Create clear and concise material, taking care of editing and proofreading tasks
  • Work across teams, to gather information, input, and approvals from key stakeholders
  • Revise and rewrite existing technical literature by reviewing, making necessary changes, and incorporating feedback from subject matter experts
  • Ensure the documents align with international standards and best practices by researching externally and consulting internal experts
  • Determine whether users understand newly developed material
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, and other specialists
  • Launch effective reviews and gaining approvals in a timely manner
  • Produce high quality electronic documentation using the appropriate tools and techniques
  • Use tools like Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and DocuSign to manage document versions and approvals

What you have:

  • Experience in technical authoring, particularly with information security documentation
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and SharePoint for document development and management
  • Familiarity with DocuSign for processing approvals
  • Understanding of information security and security best practices
  • Ability to work independently and interact with key stakeholders to obtain signatures and explain the context behind policies
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours per week
