We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Site Reliability Engineer with 4-7 years' direct relatable experience in both cloud and on-premises software development and production environments and delivery. We want our engineer to build solid reliable services, improve our delivery, share their experience to elevate the staff, the department and York as a whole.
As an SRE, you will assist the Director of Site Reliability in architecture deployment, monitoring management for York software platforms, integrating physical hardware with cloud infrastructure. You will create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab runners. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment and enjoys the challenge of creating elegant solutions from complex, multi-faceted design requirements.
Currently this role requires onsite with some flexibility based on team rotational schedules. Providing on-prem support is a vital aspect of the work.
Active clearance a plus but ability to get and maintain Top Secret clearance is a must.
Infrequent but occasional travel is possible with this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Primary)
- Integrating physical hardware solutions as well as cloud infrastructure solutions in support of development, test and operational Mission Operations Centers. (Azure/AWS)
- Moving deployments from low CUI environments to High (Secret or TS)
- Onsite support for production environments in a manufacturing fast paced environment.
- Helps with system monitoring and reporting with Splunk, Azure tools and other platforms.
- Identify manual processes that can be automated and builds, documents and tests those solutions.
- Generates ideas to improve overall system design and/or streamline CI/CD pipeline to generate efficiencies in system flow.
- Provide technical review of ALL SRE solutions for completeness and gap analysis.
- Provide for onsite support of AI&T and Mission Operations centers (rotational) and on-call support (rotational)
RESPONSIBILITIES (Secondary)
- Facilitates ongoing Kubernetes container operations and maintenance on AzureGov cloud environment.
- Azure resource design and configuration, Azure/AWS/Linux network configuration and troubleshooting, and Linux testbed configuration. The candidate needs to support VMWare and Hyper-V apps.
- Create, build, and code deployment pipelines with Gitlab runners.
- Participates in configuration management with Ansible and Gitlab platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Networking: Experience with advanced networking concepts including VPNs, IPSec, SD-WAN, cloud route tables, network security groups, Linux IP routes, tunneling, packet captures, iptables.
- Linux Experience: The candidate must have experience working with Linux operating systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of monitoring and logging platforms Grafana and Azure Logging.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, Docker, Ansible
- Cloud environment experience. Azure, AWS or similar.
- VM deployment, VPN Gateway, Networking, Azure Routing Table
- Experience in service reliability through Load Balancing, HA, and micro-services.
- Database experience with MySQL, MSSQL, InfluxDB.
- Knowledge of security and compliance needs of physical and cloud environments.
- Facility Infrastructure Knowledge: The candidate must possess a basic understanding of facility infrastructure, including but not limited to firewalls, servers, and other essential network components.
