Hardware Technician, Device Maintenance

Salary: $30.00 USD Hourly - $40.00 USD Hourly

Join a growing Hardware Device Maintenance team responsible for testing, repairing, and maintaining Point-of-Sale (PoS) devices. In this role, you'll work on firmware and software updates, battery maintenance, and basic repairs. You'll collaborate with teammates to uphold device security and accuracy in inventory and maintenance logs.
Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on PoS hardware devices.
• Complete firmware and software upgrades to ensure devices run securely and efficiently.
• Maintain precise records of maintenance activities, inventory, and procedures.
• Follow strict security and confidentiality protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and refine standard operating procedures.
• Lift and transport hardware equipment (occasionally up to 40 lbs.) in a safe manner.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Hardware Technician or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with electronic devices (e.g., PoS terminals, printers, handheld scanners).
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets (Google Sheets or MS Excel) for tracking and documentation.
• Familiarity with firmware/software upgrade processes and basic diagnostic tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining PoS devices or other payment-related hardware.
• Knowledge of device security and secrecy best practices.
• Previous experience creating and updating SOPs for hardware maintenance procedures.
• Adaptability and willingness to take on repetitive tasks while maintaining high quality.
