QA Engineer / SDET

We are seeking a skilled and proactive QA Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the project team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will be involved in both manual and automated testing, contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Static analysis of User Stories and Requirements, and communicate any ambiguities or anomalies to the relevant stakeholders


• Develop and maintain test documentation and conduct tests according to the plan


• Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting of test results


• Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders and team members


• Be proactive in taking responsibility and identifying areas for improvement


• Represent the QA team during project meetings, providing progress and status updates


• Accurately estimate testing efforts, including contingencies


• Be a subject matter expert on the project and actively share knowledge with the team


• Contribute to both manual and automated testing across various testing types, including Component, Functional, Usability, Exploratory, Sanity, Regression, Integration, and End-to-End Testing


• Continuously drive improvements in testing practices and processes


• Research new test tools, methodologies, and trends to enhance existing practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software testing with a strong track record in the industry


• Excellent time-management, organizational skills, and attention to detail


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of testing methodologies


• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment


• Familiarity with best practices such as pair programming and code reviews


• Understanding of Software Engineering principles (including SOLID, design patterns, TDD/BDD)


• Proficiency in version control systems, preferably Git/Github, and maintaining high-quality code in automation scripts


• Experience with CI/CD tools and integration build/configuration best practices


• Intermediate knowledge in at least one third-generation programming language (e.g., Java, C#) or scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python)


• Experience with test frameworks and tools such as JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium/Appium, or Cypress for automation testing


• Ability to scale automation tests and work with others' code


• Strong knowledge of API testing and underlying technologies (XML, JSON, REST, SOAP)


• Experience with test management tools like JIRA, GitHub, or Zephyr


• Familiarity with proxy tools like Charles/Fiddler for troubleshooting


• Excellent debugging skills with the ability to analyze application/network logs


• Experience identifying risks and assumptions and raising concerns to the team


• Understanding of media streaming technologies, including major streaming protocols (e.g., DASH/HLS) and DRM solutions (e.g., WideVine, FairPlay)


• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes


• Exposure to cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS


• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana)

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $52 - $62/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
