We are looking to add a Data Engineer to our team in Texas! This hire will work with our data management team and focus on leveraging advanced technologies such as Databricks to enhance our data infrastructure and drive innovative data solutions. You will utilize your experience with Databricks administration, Unity Catalog, and JAR file management to optimize our data processes and support advanced analytics initiatives.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
1. Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
2. Develop and manage robust ETL pipelines to automate the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of both structured and unstructured data.
3. Leverage Fivetran for data integration to ensure that all data sources are connected and data is flowing seamlessly.
4. Develop and optimize data querying capabilities via SQL and Python to ensure data is easily accessible for data scientists and analysts.
5. Use Java Archive (JAR) and Apache to build and manage data processing tasks.
6. Implement data lake solutions using Delta Lake, ensuring high-quality data storage.
7. Work with Azure to manage our cloud-based data storage and processing infrastructure.
8. Utilize Unity Catalog for data cataloging, ensuring data is easily discoverable and accessible.
9. Build and maintain data visualization and reporting tools using Power BI and Tableau.
10. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand and deliver on their data requirements.
11. Ensure data security and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
12. Document and communicate data engineering processes, solutions, and results to technical teams, leaders, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data engineering role.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Familiarity with Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform for cloud-based data storage and processing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations.
