Business Data Analyst (W-2 Contract)

Hybrid Location 2-3 days per week required on-site in Frisco, TX

Business Data Analyst works alongside Information & data Architects, Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to design, build and maintain moderate to advanced data models and data sets that support reporting and services needs. This role requires familiarity of data architecture, data domain & sources, data usage from both business and technical terms.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Engage in discussions with cross-functionality teams to gather data analysis requirements.
  • Responsible for the data analysis, usage, and data mapping needs from disparate source system.
  • Define business glossaries, polices, terms, maintain standardize definitions of data across company domains.
  • Perform data discovery, models of data sources, monitor data quality trends. Define and manage rules to verify and ensure data conformance to business and technical needs.
  • Help ETL development teams to speed up ETL process implementations.
  • Help data architects, engineers in the creation of data models for large-scale, high-volume ETL process ingestion/extraction to/from data lake, lake house storage and for reporting, analytics, and data science needs.
  • Define solutions and ensure data quality, cataloging, lineage requirements are reviewed, implemented, and tested during the ETL process implementations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to adopt best practices in data integrity, design, analysis, testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings as needed.
  • Design and implement security measures to protect data from unauthorized access or misuse.
  • Keeps management informed of status of on activities through accurate, timely, and appropriate reporting.
  • Contribute to Data Governance, system documentation and sharing of data asset knowledge.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or in a technology related field OR equivalent through a combination of education and/or technology experience OR 12 years of technology experience
  • 5 years of working experience with data analysis, cleansing, standardizing, profiling, modeling, data mapping, transformation, lineage, and tools.
  • 5 years of strong SQL coding, troubleshooting and performance improvement skills.
  • 5 years of experience defining and maintaining meta data management, business glossaries, polices, terms, standardize definitions.
  • 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, developing, data cataloging, lineage end-to-end scalable data applications and data pipelines
  • 6 years of experience using Informatica IDQ with
  • 3 years IICS experience programming (e.g., Python) or querying languages (SQL)
  • 5 years of working knowledge of different databases (e.g., SQL & NoSQL) and AWS cloud technologies
  • 4 years of experience developing strong collaborative relationships with key data, business partners
  • 3 years of experience working in enterprise data warehouse solutions and platforms

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Practitioner or Data Analytics preferred.
