Description

SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Information Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOM SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. Your career at SAIC enables USSOCOM to fulfill its mission to "Provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks." As a member of our team, you will support the vice president of the Enterprise Operations Group (EOG) as we partner with SOF military and civilian members to provide world-class IT services and support that connects over 60,000 users around the world in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation. This position is based at Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, California.
  • This Information Technology Specialist requires excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as thorough knowledge of hardware, software, and network connections.
  • Information Technology Specialists are responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing personal computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, network, and AV equipment.
  • Assist employees via remote access, phone, or in person. Information Technology Specialists requires extensive knowledge of hardware, software, and network connections.
  • Position also needs critical thinking, problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as diverse experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • This position may be required to provision and maintain mobile devices (NIPR, SIPR and Gray) and other handheld communication devices (tactical radios).
  • The ability to terminate, test and troubleshoot secure/non-secure voice, video, data infrastructure.
  • Provide administration of network and communications systems, including, but not limited to Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems.

Qualifications

Information Technology Specialist position must be knowledgeable in the following:
  • Must have Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree & 5+ years of experience, OR Master's Degree & 3+ years of experience, OR 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs, and peripherals on NIPR, SIPR and TS networks.
  • Installing and configuring application and operating system software.
  • Installing operating system patches and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
  • Imaging new systems using Preboot Execution Environment (PXE).
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network connectivity issues, including Virtual Private Networking issues for remote customers.
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining Voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems, including use of Cisco Call Manager for phone configuration.
  • Configuring and managing end user mobile devices, including Smart Phones and Remote Access Points (RAP).
  • Network switch troubleshooting for client connectivity, including network ports.
  • WI-FI Access Point installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • System Administration support for end users, including shared drive permissions and network printer configuration.
  • Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines.
  • Supporting audiovisual (AV) requirements for Command events and ceremonies. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to brief senior military and government leaders.
  • Additional professional certifications such as CCNA, or CASP+, or Microsoft Endpoint Administrator highly desired.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
