Job Details

LRS is seeking an experienced IBM Power Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration and administration of IBM Power hardware, PowerVM virtualization, and AIX system administration. The role requires a deep understanding of Power 8, 9, and 10 systems, virtualization technologies, and AIX operating system management. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. 3rd party candidates will not be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

IBM Power Hardware Configuration Management:

  • Manage scale-out & mid-range Power 8, 9, and 10 systems
  • Add, change, and delete LPARs
  • Install, update, and manage IBM Hardware Management Console


PowerVM Virtualization:

  • Install and update VIOS
  • Configure and manage virtual networking (SEA & VNIC)
  • Manage virtual storage (Virtual SCSI & Virtual Fibre Channel)


AIX System Administration:

  • Install and update AIX (standalone and via NIM)
  • Manage network and storage configurations (AIX Logical Volume Manager)
  • Monitor and tune system performance
  • Monitor system health and security
  • Diagnose and resolve system problems


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with IBM Power 8, 9, and 10 systems
  • Expertise in PowerVM virtualization and AIX system administration
  • Strong knowledge of IBM Hardware Management Console, VIOS, and networking
  • Ability to manage storage configurations, system performance, and security
  • Must be within driving distance of St. Louis, MO
