Habemco is a shared services company wholly owned and operated by the Habematolel Pomo
of Upper Lake, a federally recognized Native American tribe located in Northern California.

Purpose of the Position
Designs web pages and develops web-based technical solutions that engage users and meet
business requirements. Handles projects from conceptualization through delivery. Develops
and applies creative designs, ensuring that content meets brand standards and targets the
intended audience. Uses knowledge of front-end platforms, frameworks, and languages to
deliver high-quality site and application designs. Tests and improves site usability while
ensuring optimal performance on a variety of browsers. Incumbent works in a generally
independent and collaborative manner while contributing to moderately complex aspects of a
project.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and guide the user experience and visual design for online banking and lending
customer experiences.
Participate and lead user research efforts, including usability studies, remote moderated
tests, user interviews, etc.
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and other UX artifacts/deliverables as
needed.
Build clickable prototypes to help communicate UX concepts and for user testing.
Build UI elements with a component-based approach.
Execute visual designs based on UX process and hand-off to engineering teams.
Deliver against the long-term vision for our customer experience and the broader
strategy for innovation.
Benchmark FinTech and other similar customer facing industries for customer
experience best practices and designs.
Demonstrable UX/UI design skills with a strong portfolio.
Detail-oriented who always aims to deliver pixel-perfect designs.
Proficiency in Adobe XD and/or Creative Suite, Zeppelin, Sketch, InVision, Axure, or
other visual design and wire-framing tools.
Ability to design, conduct, and analyze qualitative research.
Proficient in design thinking and user-centered design principles.
Knowledge of Adobe XD / Creative Suite and proficiency in creating style sheets (CSS)
Collaborative worker with a proven track record of partnering with cross-functional
teams to solve short- and long-term customer experience challenges.
Regular, reliable attendance during normal business hours.
In-person attendance and travel as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from an accredited university with a
major in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Digital Media,
or other similar technical field OR, in lieu of education, four (4) or more years
performing UI/UX Designer work. Plus:
Four (4) or more years of experience working in demonstrating one or more of
the following competencies or skills:
Graphic Design
User Research
User Stories
UX Design
Web Design
Web Development
Bug Tracking Software
Graphic Design Software
Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Software
Source Code Management Software
Programming Language

and with Habemco (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (STEM/OPT), TN visa.)

Preferred:
Master of Science or Master of Fine Arts degree from an accredited university with a
major in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Digital Media,
or other similar technical field.

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods in a stationary seated position, such as working on a computer.
Must be able to travel to offsite assignments.
Ability to differentiate wire and cable colors as well as various audible tones.
