JOB SUMMARY
The Application Developer I is a key member of the software development and product implementation teams, responsible for the design, development, documentation, and testing of enterprise-level software solutions. This role requires active collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders to create high-quality, scalable, and reliable software. The Application Developer I will contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, including problem-solving, bug fixes, and continuous improvement.
TIME ALLOCATION

  • 60% Software Design and Development: Implement new business logic, user interfaces, and database interactions.
  • 20% Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in testing activities to ensure functionality meets performance and development standards.
  • 10% Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including conceptual and detailed designs.
  • 10% Collaboration: Work with teammates and clients to discuss requirements, progress, and solutions.

PRODUCT SUMMARY
The Application Developer I contributes to the development of enterprise software solutions, focusing on the creation of new functionalities, bug fixes, and system enhancements. The software developed is integral to ARGO s suite of products, which serve a wide array of industries and help streamline business processes, improve customer relationships, and expand revenue opportunities.
EXPECTED WORK AND PERFORMANCE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Design and Development: Create, develop, and implement business logic, user interfaces, and system features in alignment with functional requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Apply quality assurance procedures to test software, report defects, track resolutions, and recommend enhancements.
  • Documentation: Prepare clear, detailed, and accurate design documentation and technical specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and stakeholders to meet project deadlines, align with client expectations, and ensure product quality.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular status updates on project tasks, identify issues early, and ensure that solutions are in place to meet deadlines and performance goals.
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and suggest improvements.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ARGO s Basic Development Training Track to ensure alignment with internal processes and industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (both major and overall).
  • Internship in software development or customer support is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working on team-based development projects.
  • Familiarity with modern programming concepts, multi-tier architecture, and database design.
  • Knowledge of C#, .Net, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, XML, XSL and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio, object-oriented programming, and graphical user interface development is a bonus.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong understanding of modern software development principles and practices.
  • Experience in database queries and data structures.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency with object-oriented programming and web development frameworks
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and updates to both internal teams and external clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document and present technical designs, issues, and progress.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software defects quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to think critically and find innovative solutions to complex problems.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
Experience working with enterprise-level software solutions and large-scale systems.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Experience with version control tools like Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
Understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems.

ATTENDANCE/WORK LOCATION
The position is based in our Richardson, TX office. Daily physical presence in the office is required for interaction with co-workers, attending meetings, and collaboration on projects.
