Job Title: Tax Credit Manager


Job Type: Full-time


Location: Greensboro, Raleigh or Charlotte, NC or remote


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Credit Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal tax consulting and a proven track record of success in managing a team.


Responsibilities:

- Provide tax consulting services as it relates to:

the Research and Development Tax Credit and the capitalization and amortization rules under IRC Section 174:

- leading technical interviews with client subject matter experts;

- analyzing accounting information;

- touring client facilities, and

- developing appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results


- Provide exceptional client service by establishing solid rapport with clients and maintaining outstanding client relationships.

- Manage a team of tax consultants and provide guidance on complex R&D tax issues

- Stay up-to-date on changes in federal tax laws and regulations

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in accounting
  • CPA highly preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in R&D tax credits required
  • 4-6 years of experience in accounting methods preferred
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Strong data management skills
  • Inquisitive mind such that you initiate, on your own, continuous education for yourself in your specialty area
  • Proficiency in use of computers and various accounting software programs
  • Demonstrate initiative, innovativeness, time management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license with good motor vehicle record

Essential physical requirements:

  • Travel as needed, including driving
  • Fine hand manipulation in keyboarding 5-7 hours per day
