Description

Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to (Warren, MI or Mountain View, CA) three times a week, at minimum.

The Role

We are seeking a Product Manager, GM Energy Home Products who will be responsible for leading the development of GM Energy's Home Charging Solutions product portfolio, including owning the growth strategy and product launch responsibility. This role is responsible for the delivery of product line strategy and projects, and providing product leadership for optimization of business operations, product sales and customer engagement.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Own the product vision for a holistic home charging and energy experience, including integration with other assets, such as solar and home energy storage.
  • Scope the customer journey that ensures a seamless integration of home charging solutions and other GM Energy Products while ensuring daily transportation needs are met.
  • Define the system specifications for the various elements of home charging products including functional, performance, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate home charging product solutions to ensure product market fit, as well as efficient, safe, and reliable designs.
  • Familiarity with building hardware and software feature requirements around launching new innovative cloud-based products to enable the customer energy management experience.
  • Partner with firmware developers to create customer feature requirements, and participate in the sprint reviews and feature testing through the software development cycle.
  • Connect with key industry players and support the development of key partnerships (including PV, Utility scale power generation, and commercial energy storage).
  • Create product launch strategies and commercially implement them along with Sales, Marketing, Advanced Planning, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Support the development and review of product marketing materials.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of previous experience in the renewable energy industry, ideally within home charging, residential solar or residential energy storage
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field required
  • General knowledge of home electrical systems
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated high level of strategic agility and desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and an innovation mindset

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Understanding of building electrical and construction industries
  • Familiarity with home EV charging, solar and energy storage installation
  • Familiarity with grid regulatory compliance
  • Experience with software interoperability and standards between cloud platform and vehicles based on industry standards
  • Proficiency in Agile product management

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is ($93,400 - $149,200 ). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
