Job Details

Stratus is looking for a proactive Mid-Level SQL Developer to join our team, with a strong focus on SQL Server 2022 in a cloud environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in SQL development and Guidewire PolicyCenter (PC), particularly in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Personal Lines domain. You will play a key role in supporting development and data migration activities while collaborating closely with our State Migration team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis and write advanced SQL queries using SQL Server 2022 on a cloud platform.
  • Utilize SQL features including:
    • Temporary tables
    • ROW_NUMBER() and other partitioning functions
    • Data formatting and manipulation functions
    • Merge operations for data updates
  • Design and maintain stored procedures, including efficient use of parameters.
  • Assist with requirement elicitation by working directly with users and stakeholders.
  • Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and problem resolution related to data and system issues.
  • Support PolicyCenter-related data tasks and migration efforts.
  • Contribute to team development efforts and mentor less experienced team members as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2 4 years of hands-on SQL development experience, preferably with SQL Server 2022.
  • Experience working in cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of stored procedures, parameter usage, and SQL optimization techniques.
  • Solid experience in data analysis and transformation.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter is highly preferred.
  • Background in P&C insurance, particularly in Personal Lines, is a strong plus.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.
  • Experience with state migration or large-scale data migration projects.
