Job Details

Important Note:

  • Clearance: An interim clearance is sufficient for the start of this position.
  • Work from Home: This position is VIRTUAL. The candidate can work remotely but they MUST live within 100 miles of Lexington so that they can come into the Lab if necessary for the needs of the program. The onsite work will NOT be regular.
  • Interview Process: 1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager. 2nd round interview will be a Zoom with additional team members as needed.

 

Team provides web application and collaboration solutions in support of the Laboratory’s technical mission and its day-to-day operations. These solutions include intranet and collaboration tools, document management systems, and web application development. Team supports the external website, Atlassian tools (Confluence and Jira), eForms, and enterprise search. The team also enables others to create Drupal websites, designs user experiences, and develops websites both internally and externally (for conferences). Team provides application integration with web services for many existing and new business applications. Additionally, Team integrates new technology capabilities like Generative AI, enabling Laboratory personnel to be more effective and efficient.

 

The Team system administrator team provides enterprise application support and maintenance for the Laboratory. Team is looking for a system administrator with skillset in the administration of Apache based systems, including deploying and maintaining application infrastructure, with a focus on Generative AI technologies. This person will also have solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

 

Must Have:

  • Proven experience in deploying and maintaining application infrastructure, with a focus on Generative AI technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools for automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for AI and machine learning, with a desire to stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in the field.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark) and big data technologies.
  • Experience to administer Apache based applications
  • Experience to manage containers with scaling it up
