Role: Telecommunications Systems Engineer
Location: Onsite - Rosemead, CA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Telecommunications Systems Engineer to design, develop, and implement telecommunications infrastructure, supporting the transition from TDM to IP-based networks. This role will focus on fiber optic, Lightwave, microwave transport systems, MPLS, and DWDM platforms while ensuring network reliability, cost-effectiveness, and performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop System Design: Design and implement telecommunications systems and circuits, including fiber optic, light wave, microwave transport, MPLS, and DWDM platforms, to support TDM-to-IP migration. Recommend and implement action plans for improving network performance and reliability.
- Infrastructure Planning & Design: Lead or support the design of communication facilities such as rooms and towers, considering environmental constraints, terrain, power availability, accessibility, and proximity to other facilities.
- Project Requirements Analysis: Evaluate telecommunications requirements, including capacity, reliability, technical parameters, cost, schedule, and scope. Initiate capital work orders, procure necessary equipment, and develop detailed installation job instructions and documentation.
- Project Management: Define and manage project scope, schedule, and budget. Track project performance, ensure adherence to timelines, and provide financial and status updates. Coordinate requirements and project delivery with stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, or a related scientific, technical, or mathematical field.
- 5+ years of engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience with telecommunications systems, including fiber optic, lightwave, microwave transport, MPLS, DWDM platforms, and data systems.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be locally based.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Familiarity with TBS and NSP technologies
