Job Title: Profee Clinic Coder

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: 100% Remote (Eligible States Only)

Approved Hiring States:

Our client can only hire from the following states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, FL, ID, KS, LA, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, SD, TX, UT, WY. Candidates with dual residence in the U.S. are eligible if their primary residence is in an approved state. They must use company-provided equipment in both locations. Additional VPN licenses are not available for staff splitting work locations.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a static IP.
  • Must have experience in Outpatient Profee (Provider) Coding.

Position Summary:

The Coder II position is a senior-level coding role responsible for accurately and timely coding of outpatient professional services. This role also serves as a mentor for Coder I team members when needed. The ideal candidate will have credentialed coding experience through AHIMA or AAPC and must be proficient in using online encoder references, Coding Clinic Guidelines, client-specific coding guidelines, and reference publications.

The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of DRG payment methodology and/or APC payment methodology. Familiarity with AR reports is preferred. Any intentional misrepresentation of coding for reimbursement purposes may result in disciplinary action, including termination.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Must hold one of the following certifications: CIC, COC, CPC, CPC-A, CCS-P, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA.

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, Associate's Degree, or certification from AHIMA or AAPC is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Coder I, unless the candidate has one year of exact coding experience at a previous facility.
  • Candidates with CPC-A certification must have 2 years of coding experience.

Special Skills & Training:

  • Minimum typing speed of 35 characters per minute.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Computer skills with billing knowledge preferred.
