Responsibilities

We are looking for a technical AWS/Cloud FINOPS Lead who will be responsible for the enterprise technical direction for AWS usage and cost, AWS cloud cost optimization, financial modeling and analysis, and the implementation of best practices for an enterprise Cloud Platform.

This technical role will have primary responsibility for implementing and managing improvements via new tools, automation and processes, tracking and reporting all spend, researching new services to drive maximum value and lowest cost for our customer. This position is fully remote.

What you will do:
  • Provide deep technical and business skills to work with both technical and financial analysts to proactively monitor and manage spending, establish budgets and forecasts of AWS services, maximize savings plans, service thresholds, efficiencies, and invoicing.
  • Technical experience implementing and integrating Cloud FinOps tools such as Apptio, CloudCheckr, AWS Cost Explorer into an existing environment at an enterprise level with correlation to request management and configuration management tools.
  • Set up the AWS services plans, continuous cost optimization of the services plan, and cost tracking and reporting of the cloud resources.
  • Monitor cloud usage patterns and implement strategies to reduce costs.
  • Support the set up and configuration via tagging, etc. of new and existing AWS services.
  • Provide input to specifying cost and financing issues based on reviews of technical engineering concepts and requirements and designs, and in integrating the multiple economic and financial analysis tasks and activities involved in engineering projects.
  • Provide pricing for AWS services.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the FIN/Ops system.
  • Produce and present technical AWS Services and financial reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an AWS Cloud environment. Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • Strong AWS Cloud private pricing experience on large scale hosting systems and managing Cloud Hosting /FinOps.
  • Technical experience working in an AWS Cloud architect or engineering role providing Dev/Sec/Ops or AWS architect support.
  • Experience implement Fin/Ops tools to provide configuration, pricing of services and providing 'what if scenarios', budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, savings plans, etc.
  • Experience setting up and operating the billing process from AWS.
  • Demonstrated AWS Cloud migration, governance and FinOps management experience.
  • Detailed understanding of the various AWS charging capabilities.
  • Demonstrative ability to get the maximum value utilizing AWS services.
  • Technical and project management experience, including diverse experience in the development, integration, operations and/or maintenance of complex systems and technologies
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications:
  • AWS Practitioner / AWS Architect Certification
  • Active Public Trust clearance is a plus

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
