Job DescriptionCompany Description
This position is the Finance Department s project management leader in systems implementations, including ERP implementations, and is also a database administrator who can develop databases and automated reports while achieving process improvements. Key requirements are a strong knowledge of SQL, attention to detail, problem-solving, understanding of business processes, and proven project management leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Daily work:
- Work closely with other data professionals and organization employees to store, organize and update important data
- Rationalize data stored in multiple databases into one source of truth and automate reporting of data from databases for audits and operational needs
- Engage in enterprise-wide process monitoring and improvement
- Design systems to ensure data integrity and controls
- On system implementations:
- Engage directly with internal stakeholders and acts as the primary point of contact between internal business units and the system integrator
- Perform project planning in collaboration with the system integrator including scope definition, resource planning and risk management
- Align and manage expectations within the internal project team
- Manages internal resource work efforts
- Proactively identify and manage risks related to business operations, project scope, and resource availability
- Facilitate timely decision making
- Monitor project execution against the baseline project plan
- Lead end user training and change management initiatives
- Monitor project budget and allocates internal resources effectively, ensuring departments contribute their expertise without overloading them
- Build detailed test plans and task checklists
- Schedule and lead requirements gathering sessions
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of database design, development and report writing including data lakes
- Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialists to set up, maintain and monitor data networks
- Ability to monitor and maintain multiple database environments across 2 datacenters
- Strong knowledge of SQL is required
- Knowledge of data governance best practices
- Excellent attention to detail
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
- Ability to multitask
- Experience with REST API is a strong plus
- Experience working with complex union rules and/or business requirements a plus
- Experience leading large scale ERP implementations
- Knowledge of internal business processes such as finance and human resources
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their functionalities, but not necessarily deep technical knowledge
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and lead internal business process reengineering
- Experience managing vendor relationships and ensuring external teams meet project expectations
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer information systems or other relevant discipline
- Three to five years of IT experience in roles such as Database Administrator, IT Support Specialist or Data Analyst preferred but not required Ability to work in the office a minimum of four days a week
