Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and problem-solving abilities to architect, design, and develop end-to-end data solutions that are robust, scalable, and innovative. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data products meet mission requirements and adhere to industry best practices, while also aligning with our broader data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Design & Development:

  • Lead the architectural design and development of end-to-end data solutions, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other solutions architects, data governance, and data platform teams to ensure that data products align with data mesh principles and organizational standards.
  • Engage with product management and business units to define data strategies that support business objectives.

Technology Evaluation & Recommendation:

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement modern data technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our data infrastructure and capabilities.
  • Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and proof-of-concepts to validate new technologies and approaches.

Standards & Best Practices:

  • Develop and maintain architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure the high quality and consistency of our data solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, and promote best practices for data governance.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and improvement.
  • Lead architectural reviews, ensuring that solutions are aligned with long-term strategic goals.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems and applications, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and availability of data services.

Industry Trends & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture and engineering.
  • Continuously explore new ways to improve our data architecture, tools, and processes, driving innovation across the organization.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
  • Proven experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), big data technologies, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in data modeling, database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with data mesh principles and microservices architecture.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership qualities with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a data-focused team.
