About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced IT HIM Coding Analyst to join our team, focusing on coding, ROI, and clinical documentation integrity (CDI). The ideal candidate will have strong Epic and backend server-side skills, working closely with operational and clinical teams to handle complex workflows, problem-solving, and multiple system integrations. This is a highly collaborative position with leadership responsibilities, working directly with junior analysts and other IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project & Team Leadership: Lead multiple projects related to Epic system upgrades and implementations, focusing on backend server-side operations, credentialing, and coding. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Technical Expertise: Work with key technologies such as S-Contracts (OnBase), DocuSign, File Control, and 3M integrations with Epic. Ensure seamless integration between Epic applications, ClinDoc, and other systems like Solarity, Midus, and Endesia.
- Ticket Management: Handle complex server-side tickets, primarily focused on coding, ROI, and CDI, which are the heaviest ticket groups. Troubleshoot backend issues and collaborate with other teams to resolve them efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work closely with both clinical and operational teams to ensure data integrity and optimize Epic applications across different modules, including HMI coding in ROI for identity/deficiency bases.
- System Integration: Ensure proper integration and usage of various platforms and tools, such as Epic CDI/CDR, OnBase, Echo, and SER credentialing. Provide technical support and collaborate across departments to solve issues on the backend.
- Training & Transition: Oversee the training of new HIM analysts, ensuring they understand the processes, workflows, and backend systems they will be managing. This includes a training period until November.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Be a go-getter with a naturally analytical mindset. Tackle complex issues, identify solutions, and implement initiatives that drive positive outcomes for the organization.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in Health Information Management (HIM), with an emphasis on backend server-side work, Epic applications, and system integrations.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Epic, coding standards, CDI, and ROI. Experience with S-Contracts, DocuSign, File Control, and integrations with platforms like OnBase, Solarity, and Endesia.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to work across departments, manage teams, and foster collaboration among analysts and other IT professionals. Proven track record of guiding junior team members.
- Certifications: 1-2 relevant certifications in HIM, such as HIM Admin or ROI DT, are required for a lead position.
- Personality: Must be analytical and capable of identifying and solving backend technical issues.
