A client of LaSalle Network, a leading provider of managed IT solutions, is specializing in delivering cutting-edge technology and exceptional service to their clients. They are seeking a skilled and proactive Mainframe Project Manager to lead projects for their enterprise clients, ensuring the seamless execution of mainframe-related initiatives in dynamic and collaborative environments.

Mainframe Project Manager Responsibilities:



  • Lead mainframe infrastructure and application projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets and timelines

  • Develop detailed project plans, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure successful delivery

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction

  • Collaborate with technical teams, account managers, and C-suite stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver value

  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and ensure their deliverables meet project requirements

  • Oversee internal and external technical teams, facilitating collaboration and resolving roadblocks

  • Provide guidance on mainframe technologies and solutions, ensuring the technical aspects of projects are executed efficiently

  • Understand client environments to make informed decisions and recommendations

  • Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies and proactively resolve issues that could impact project success

  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations

  • Analyze project outcomes and identify areas for process improvement to optimize future delivery



Mainframe Project Manager Requirements:



  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in an MSP or enterprise IT environment.



  • Solid understanding of mainframe environments, technologies, common terminology and best practices



  • Exceptional organizational, leadership and communication skills



  • Ability to work in a highly outsourced environment, managing multiple vendors and teams



  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail



  • Experience managing large-scale IT or mainframe projects across diverse industries



  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and agile methodologies



  • Knowledge of tools like MS Project, Jira, or other project management software
