What you will do-
As a Staff Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving value streams at Stryker's site. You will design lean systems, influence cross-functional teams, and execute improvement initiatives to continuously drive top performance from our production system.
This role is a Staff Continuous Improvement Engineer position in the Kalamazoo manufacturing site at Stryker Instruments. Stryker is one of the world's leading medical technology companies and is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and making healthcare better. Our products are used in operating rooms throughout the world, consisting of surgical power tools, batteries, and procedure-specific accessories.

What you will do-

Additional responsibilities:
- Lead value stream mapping workshops and kaizen events
- Oversee future state implementation
- Evaluate & drive productivity improvements
- Monitor & improve lean metrics (lead time, changeover time, inventory levels, etc.)
- Design flow systems between work cells
- Partner with Finance associates to quantify CI cost reductions
- Personally execute improvements
- Coach others in Lean concepts
- Work closely and collaboratively with members of other teams in a fast-paced environment
- Identify root causes of issues, determine potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements
- Follow the company's standards for process development, quality and safety
What you will need-
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 4+ years of relevant work experience required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - highly preferred
- Certification in lean manufacturing - preferred
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry - preferred
- Ability to identify waste, formulate action plans and drive improvement - preferred
Physical requirements:
- May involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing, as appropriate
- May be required to reach, push, or pull in order to accomplish job accountabilities
- Requires use of safety glasses in designated areas
- Closed-toe/closed-heel shoes must be worn on the production floor
