Job Details
Our client, a car parts manufacturer, is seeking an IT Support Specialist Tier 2 to join their growing team and provide support to their Elk Grove Village, IL location and nearby offices. Please note, sponsorship is not available at this time.
Job Summary:
As a Tier 2 IT Support Specialist, you will play a key role within the IT Services team, providing advanced technical support and gaining hands-on experience with a variety of technological platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 2 level for end-user (onsite and remote) technical issues.
- Assist with servicing and deploying computer systems, software, and peripherals.
- Travel to regional area locations for on-site IT-related services.
- Maintain, Deploy, Diagnose, and Remediate regional IT assets such as computer hardware and software, network equipment, and peripherals.
- Properly prioritize, coordinate, and escalate unresolved issues to other support tiers.
- Familiarity with Help Desk ticketing systems for incident management, documentation, and follow-up.
- Participate in occasional larger projects and deployments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Intermediate experience in troubleshooting & support of Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, and Linux Operating Systems.
- Experience with modern cloud productivity solutions: Google Workspace, Office 365.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of basic routing and switching concepts such as DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, IP addressing & subnetting, SDWAN
- Intermediate experience supporting and troubleshooting RF mobile device units (inventory scanning, order processing), tablets, PCs, & mobile devices.
- Should be familiar with deployment tools, such as SmartDeploy, Lansweeper, NinjaOne. Intune is a plus.
- Must have a good understanding of networks, PC s, and hardware configuration
- Some experience with automation is a plus (Python, Powershell, Terraform, etc.)
