SUMMARY:
As our Manufacturing Engineer III, you will be responsible for configuring and training production personnel on how to assemble lithium-ion battery packs by developing processes and procedures.

o Battery charge balancing
o Attaching welding tabs via resistance or laser
o Attaching the battery management system circuit card assembly
o Develop and performing testing
o Generating electronic reporting and record storage
o Sort cells/batteries based on test results

SUMMARY:
As our Manufacturing Engineer III, you will be responsible for configuring and training production personnel on how to assemble lithium-ion battery packs by developing processes and procedures.
MUST HAVES:
- Ability to tell a good process from a wasteful one. Be able to create creative processes to maximize our output.
- Continues Improvement (How to make the process much better from the first).
- Some sort of automation and or robotics background. Automated processes experience.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Battery Manufacturing experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designing and implementing a large format battery assembly line that would automatically process battery cells for:
o Battery charge balancing
o Attaching welding tabs via resistance or laser
o Attaching the battery management system circuit card assembly
o Develop and performing testing
o Generating electronic reporting and record storage
o Sort cells/batteries based on test results
- Determining appropriate square footage for setting up the battery production line
- Planning plant layout changes to improve flow and minimize waste in other production lines
- Creation of implementation of battery assembly work instructions for critical manual activities
- Implementing appropriate safety protocols for production staff and facilities
- Leading continuous improvement 6-Sigma activities
- Working collaboratively with Design Engineering department for new product introductions
- Meeting department goals and objectives
- Devise and implement continuous improvement activities to increase production throughput
- Use all computer tools and software i.e. Microsoft Office package, Visio, Dynamics and AutoCAD or SolidWorks proficiently
- Utilize software languages such as C#, C++, Python, etc. to create custom applications as necessary
- Determine root cause failures and implement corrective actions as necessary
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Electrical, Industrial or Physics Engineering Degree preferred
- 5-10 years of related experience in successfully establishing large format battery production assembly lines and items listed above
- Experience testing high-power energy sources
