Responsibilities

Packaging R&D Senior Manager will drive the Global Innovation agenda and anchor future innovations in deep human centric insights utilizing technical expertise and leadership to ensure continued growth. This role will also help lead the Global Foods Packaging Analytical and Prototyping Labs.

Accountabilities:
  • Understand the global business and consumer needs to proactively drive Innovation with best practices to build a consumer centric approach.
  • Work closely with R&D Platform teams, Marketing, Sales and Design to create new business opportunities as well as lead development of packaging solutions to help grow and evolve the business.
  • Represent Packaging function in business leadership meetings, accountability for setting agenda, driving results and setting the Innovation strategy within packaging.
  • Manage and prioritize packaging development activities, Innovation workshops and ideations session to support our regions to deliver innovation globally.
  • Help connect the prototyping lab to the packaging community and support the digital transformation strategy.
  • Lead the development of new products or initiatives in anticipation of or response to customer needs, market trends, and competitive opportunities
  • Demonstrate strong cross functional collaboration with Marketing, Sales, R&D Platform, Design, TDC at a local, regional and global level.
  • Sound technical knowledge in food packaging and Innovation is needed along with effective communication skills and the ability to build strong business relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $114,700 - $192,100.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills demonstrating strategic thinking, clear setting of agenda and proven track record of people development.
  • Strong project management skills in developing project timelines with multiple cross-functional touch points.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and technical ability with excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience in the development and execution of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials and have knowledge of the interrelationship with equipment.
  • Experience with technical stage gate process, ability to create package development plan and manage timelines and budgets across all projects.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and consumer driven environment.
  • Consumer insights/experience is a preferred skill but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • BS in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent
  • 10 years work experience within food/beverage packaging
