Job Details

We are assisting our client, a renowned regional healthcare provider, with their search for a contract Senior IT Project Manager with strong knowledge and experience with construction projects.
Location: Seattle - Candidates should anticipate working onsite as needed for vendor walkthroughs, etc. (1-2 days/week).
Duration: 12+ months.
Compensation: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour, DOE.

Summary:
The Senior IT Project Manager will oversee and manage IT-related activities for assigned projects, supporting the timely launch of key IT initiatives, and advocate and articulate IT requirements in every phase of construction to ensure success.

This Project Manager is the overarching project lead, and ensures alignment with the Construction Project team from the beginning through to the end. Ensures technology is captured on the Blueprints, based on Design sessions with the Architects, and they meet the minimum IT standards, and are delivered upon. The Project Managers not only need to have a solid project management background, they need to understand the construction life cycle as well.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain financial budgets for IT resources and Equipment. Continuous reconciliation and clear communication on how it is performing
  • Create and maintain project schedules for all IT resources and their activities through all phases of the Project lifecycle. (IT PM, TPM, IT PC, Desktop, Network, Telecom, A/V, IT Security, Clinical Applications and Devices). If a clinical project you will also include Clinical engineering / BioMed, EPIC, and other teams as appropriate)
  • Ensure IT major milestones are on the Construction Crew’s schedule, and that we are included on any box walks, ceiling walks, etc.
  • Manage high level project status in IT PMO project portfolio and Bi-weekly status reporting, on a regular basis
  • Project Artifacts created, maintained and posted on Project SharePoint site
  • If Clinical Project - participate in project gating milestones
  • Project quality reviews at Plan & Organize, Schematic Design and Detail Design
  • Proactively track and manage project issues and risks from identificaiton to resolution with continuous communications with IT key stakeholders. Appropriately escalate issues as needed
  • Ensure Technical teams are posting their project efforts to the correct project cost codes
  • Engages confidently with various levels of organization on issues surrounding projects and handles highly complex and political environments successfully
  • Good understanding of change management methods and approaches
  • Expert knowledge of problem-solving approaches and ability to engage collective knowledge of project team to define a problem and present effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills to various levels of personnel across the organization and diverse audiences

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrate technical competence
  • Minimum of five (5) years managing complex information technology infrastructure projects
  • Vendor management  experience
  • Understanding of waterfall and agile project management methodologies
  • Proficiency with MS Project and or Smartsheet, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel),  Visio, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and PPM Pro or similar Portfolio Management Software
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Preferred:

  • Three (3) years healthcare experience, healthcare technology support, implementation experience, and or healthcare system
  • Research facility experience and/or clincial Application experience.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Project Management Life Cycle (Initiate, Plan & Organize, Design [Schematic and Detail], Implement and Close) with project gating, quality reviews and project artifacts
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies and tools (MS Project, MS Office, SmartSheet, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, PPM Pro or similar Portfolio Management Software).
  • Ability to deliver multiple large, complex projects.
  • Effective engagement with end users and management to understand needs, define requirements, and align solutions with strategic goals.
  • Expertise in change management methods, problem-solving, and communicating with diverse audiences.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
