Job Description
Omitron Inc. is seeking a Space Operations Evaluator for the Space Domain Awareness/Command and Control (SDA/C2) mission area. Responsibilities center on support to the 18th Space Defense Squadron (SDS) Combat Training Flight (CTF), which includes the following functions: Training, Weapons and Tactics, and Standardization and Evaluation. Key duties will be to lead the creation of assessment materials and evaluation scenarios focused on technically complex orbital analysis software applications; maintaining associated operational use-cases; and collaborating between CTF staff on how to meet operator performance expectations. This person will work with subject matter experts, engineers, and software developers, serving as a valuable communication liaison between these parties. This person will become a proficient user of the SDA/C2 applications and will assist with various user certification events with USSF personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with CTF on development of positional evaluation standards as well as evaluation standards for certifications on special skill sets
- Capitalizing on space operations knowledge, develop scenarios with stimuli matching unit evaluation goals
- Ensure scenarios keep pace with evolving operational procedures, new data sources, and updated software capabilities
- Create and maintain documentation supporting CTF needs documentation should adhere government standards (e.g., certification records on behalf of the Standards and Evaluations division)
- Create reference documentation for software developed on-site by company personnel and maintain a repository of reference materials for company use
- Coordinate with other team members to post materials at various locations accessible to both government and contractor personnel
- Perform additional Standards and Evaluation duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, OR, the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.
- Knowledge in Air Force/Space Force Standards and Evaluations programs, regulations, and methodologies
- 4+ years of directly related experience in Space Situational Awareness/Space Domain Awareness (SSA/SDA) operations as well as development and delivery of technical training.
- Exposure to Python, Linux Operating System, and SDA applications such as SPADOC and ASW
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Capable of understanding complex software applications to include those with significant math models under the hood. The candidate is NOT required to perform any complex math, but must be able to understand the inputs, outputs, and effects at the user-level of the application.
- Experience writing articles for Engineers/Orbital Analysts, training manuals, or ancillary notes.
