Responsibilities
Information Security is in search of a Data Security Analyst to drive innovation and provide support for our products and technologies. This opening is for analyst on the Data Security Product Suite, specifically on the Data Lifecycle Protective Controls (DLPC) Team. This team is responsible for maturing administrative and technical controls that assist the organization in identifying sensitive data, appropriate data handling practices, and applying protective controls to the data. This team partners closely with business and technical areas across the organization on topics related to handling sensitive information.

- Researching, implementing, maturing, and supporting data protection technologies
- Collaborate with business partners to provide education, training and awareness services related to managing sensitive data within their business area.
- Collaborating with business areas across the organization to advance understanding of data handling practices and awareness of Data Security risks.
- Developing, analyzing for trends, and presenting Data Security metrics to business partners and leadership
- Engaging in migration opportunities from current on-prem supported technologies to cloud based solutions such as Microsoft (M365) cloud hosted solutions including Sensitivity Labeling, Rights Management and Secure Messaging.
- Research emerging information security threats, technology capabilities, and vendor products related to the protection of sensitive data from malicious and unintentional loss
- Participate in and/or lead vendor product reviews, evaluations, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and implementations
- Provide subject matter consulting on implemented controls that protect sensitive data
- Develop, document, and maintain data security operational procedures, standards, guidelines, and end-user support material.
Qualifications
Skills and Experiences Desired
- Strong knowledge and understanding Information Security domains and disciplines especially in data security concepts
- Broad-based knowledge of security, cloud, and development technologies, techniques, and best practices
- Ability to navigate the State Farm organization to identify solutions and resolve issues. This includes partnering across Enterprise Technology and Information Security to identify technical solutions and resolve issues; and partnering business partners to understand their data security risk and consult on data handling best practices
- Knowledge of workflow automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Logic Apps, Microsoft Power Automate) or scripting language (e.g., PowerShell (preferred), Python, Perl) is a plus.
- Self-driven with the ability to effectively initiate, prioritize, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision
- Innovative and leverages automation to optimize processes and reduce manual processing
- Champion of change, ability to influence change, and thrives in a constantly changing and gray environment
- Ability to lead topic discussions with diverse participants, areas, and disciplines
- Builds trust and maintains strong relationships with business partners, team members, and external contacts
- Communicates effectively (oral and written) at various levels of detail to all levels of the organization to effectively explain complex topics
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with the use of data and analytics to make informed decisions
Additional Details:
- May be required to work nights and weekends
- Suggested certifications may include CISSP, GSEC, CISM, CRISC, GCIA, GREM, GCWN, GAWN, or GPPA
- May develop and support solutions using contemporary automation and/or programming languages
