WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR


An experienced Systems Engineer eager to grow their skills as a member of the server team, specifically with Windows Server OS and related infrastructure. We are transitioning to a state-of-the-art composable, scalable, and flexible server framework. HPe Synergy Compute along with a highly secure Cisco environment highlights our commitment to our customers and our support staff. Primary responsibilities include installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and overall support for Windows Server OS, WSUS, Citrix, VMware, Google Cloud Platform, HPe hardware, and Exchange / O365.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 environment to ensure security best practices, system policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain and configure WSUS to ensure the latest Microsoft security patches are delivered in a timely manner and monitor for any zero-day vulnerabilities and exploits.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure proper change management is focused and that all documentation is completed and provided to validate implementation with backout plans provided for all assigned projects and tasks.
  • Perform proactive management and auditing of server performance, including event logs as needed.
  • Ensure that all support requests, projects, and other tasks are reviewed, prioritized, addressed, and completed in a timely and proficient manner.
  • Follow industry standard ITSM processes (e.g., changes, incidents, and problems) and document work via ticket system.
  • Participate in rotation of after hour's on-call responsibilities and monthly weekend maintenance.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Minimum 7 years LAN/WAN environments with enterprise class hardware. 10 years preferred. Experience troubleshooting issues using Microsoft tools and other industry standard troubleshooting tools for analysis and reporting.
  • 7+ years supporting at least two of the following technologies: Windows Server, VMware, Citrix, Active Directory, Exchange / O365, SFTP.
  • Scripting proficiency with PowerShell or similar preferred.
  • Superior team building skills and expertise in communicating effectively with all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise with diagnostic tools, enterprise applications, TCP/IP, networking and management of processes, projects, and personnel.
  • Ensure that all training requirements, tools and other resources needed to proactively manage the environment are identified, acquired, and utilized.
  • Cloud computing experience and certification is a plus. Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Associate certification or Expert certification is preferred. Expert certification is a plus.
