JOB DESCRIPTION
WTVC Chattanooga is looking for a dynamic morning meteorologist to help win on linear and digital platforms.
In this role, you will work with the News Director and producers to determine the format of various weather graphics, segments and the best way to present our community the weather information they need to plan their days and be safe in the event of severe weather. We are looking for a meteorologist who is excited by the challenge of forecasting the always unpredictable weather. The main day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include: Forecasting, producing, and presenting clear and concise weather casts, tell a story that connects with viewers, issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, report live during weather events, utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories. Part of the job also includes making public appearances on behalf of the station, pitching story ideas, developing contacts, working with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience is required
- Minimum two years experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred
The ideal candidate will have:
- Team first attitude
- Smooth/pleasant delivery
- Strong weather forecasting skills
- Willingness to execute content strategy for lifestyle weather forecasting
- Exemplary communication skills
Requirements and Qualifications:
- You must have at least 2 years of on-air experience
- Live commercial television experience is a must
- Strong "in-the-field and live" skills
- Exceptional written communications skills using a conversational writing style
- Strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation
