RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Sparks, NV that is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Program and debug structured text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and Omron Sysmac Studio)
* Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using Siemens WinCC/Proface/Weintek EasyBuilder and SCADA dashboards screens using Ignition
* Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as material pick and place, dispense, roll to roll, welding, testing and material transport
* Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs for fast and smooth operation
* Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
* Design and implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment as per codes and standards
* Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
* Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment
* Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required
REQUIREMENTS:
* AS or BS degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent - Majors in: Automation engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering)
* Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or 5+ years of experience in Control Systems Design and PLC, or equivalent
* 5+ years of advanced PLC programming knowledge on (Siemens, Omron preferred)
* 5+ years of professional controls engineering experience
* Proficiency creating detailed electrical and fluid schematics in CAD (EPLAN preferred)
* Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) programming skills
* Siemens Omron experience as a primary requirement
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
